Multi-level carts and indoor farming have come a long way, with the evolution of LED lighting opening up new opportunities for multi-level growth. AdeptAg was involved in early multi-level growing projects in the lettuce farming sector and is now implementing this technology with growers of herbs, cannabis, plug production, and other microgreens.
The evolution continues. Multi-level growing began with static two-level benches but now includes racks that glide across the floor with as many as three levels. These gliding racks provide wide path access to maintain crops from lifts, maximizing space efficiency in vertical farming.
AdeptAg’s multi-level carts are unique in the industry. We manufacture a solid polystyrene tray that extends from the front to the back of the rack, allowing for easier cleaning, simple irrigation adaptation, greater rigidity, and higher yields. Parts for this system are laser-cut, resulting in clean and precise cuts that facilitate easy assembly. The entire multi-level cart structure is made from pre-galvanized materials. The bench deck uses the same parts and pieces as all our other table systems, with each tabletop finished with an aluminum side profile and rounded HDPE corners. Multi-level benches move smoothly from position to position by manually pushing the rack.
